“The Clever Fox” by Chirag Ghosh, Class 4, Epic Public School, is a delightful moral story about intelligence, friendship, and bravery. Discover how a clever fox outsmarts a greedy lion to save the forest!
Once upon a time, there was a small forest where a clever and smart fox lived. He was quite famous because of his intelligence.
One day, the animals decided to select a king who would lead the forest.
On the day of voting, everyone elected the clever fox, and celebrations began in the forest. All looked happy—everyone except one: the greedy lion.
The lion was very sad because no one had elected him, so he came up with a plan to trap the king.
Within a few weeks, many animals started dying. The lion began spreading rumours that it was the fox who had killed them. Initially, none of the animals believed him. But when more animals started dying, everyone grew concerned, and a meeting was called under the large banyan tree in the forest. All the animals attended the meeting—except the lion.
Some days back…
One day, the kind and innocent elephant, who was also the fox’s best friend, was passing by the lion’s den when he heard something strange. He saw that the lion had called a group of tigers to his cave and asked them to kill and eat the animals. The lion wanted to frame the fox for these killings.
Within a few days, the tigers started hunting and killing small animals.
At the meeting…
On the day of the meeting, the animals were very angry and started questioning the fox. Finally, the elephant arrived at the meeting and informed the king about what he had seen. Hearing this, the fox began thinking of what to do. The elephant and the fox were worried, but after much thought, they came up with a plan.
They decided to hide and record a video of the tigers eating the animals. So they called a very brave little rabbit and told her everything.
The next day, when the tigers were searching for animals, they saw the rabbit and ran after her. They caught her and took her to the lion’s cave. When they offered the rabbit to the lion to eat, the rabbit ran as fast as she could and returned home safely.
Meanwhile, the two best friends had captured everything on video from morning till night. The next day, they showed the video to all the animals in the forest. The animals were furious and decided to throw the lion and the tigers out of the forest.
They praised the fox for his intelligence, the elephant for his loyalty, and the rabbit for her bravery. And thus, the forest lived happily ever after.
