This quote by Michael Jordan was spotted in reality on 17th January 2026. This day was celebrated as the annual sports day of Epic Public School, Cooch Behar. Maharaja Nripendra Narayan Stadium(MJN Stadium) was the place where this event took place.
The event began with a pleasant melody of flute by a student of the school. It was accompanied by the lightening of the Diya by the Principal Dr. Sanjukta Saha, Director Mr. Biswajit Jha and epic’s sports advisor Mr. Keshab Ranjan Banerjee–It is a tradition which marks the good and peaceful beginning of something.
The students then marched like soldiers, wearing their house jerseys. A beautiful display of students in groups of red, green, blue and yellow took place with their captains leading them. A spectacular yoga performance then took place which shook up the audience. After that, several dance and drill performances took place, which was an involvement of vibrant colours and smooth movements. This summed up the cultural performances of the day and served as a great start.
The mid-day started with 100 metre races of boys and girls. It was then followed by a stunning competition of back ball throw of the juniors. The senior girls showed up their talent in shot put after that. Then there was a magnificent competition of long jump by the senior school boys. Then the anticipated events took place – relay race and tug of war. The relay race was a beautiful display of sportsmanship and competition. The tug of war served as a symbol of teamwork and hard work.
At the end of the day, the prize distribution ceremony took place. Students got rewarded for their eye-catching performances. The scores of students in different sporting events carried out throughout the day were added house-wise and the house with the most points lifted the inter-house sports day trophy. Red House(Agni house) emerged as the champions of the day and Blue House(Jal house) was awarded as the runners up.
The captains of both the houses lifted the trophies and celebrated the victory with their house members.
There was a sense of determination and discipline in the students all day. The school prefects were really active throughout the day and carried out the program professionally. The teachers and school staff were also at work and were guiding the students. The coordination of the whole school made this event a successful one. This event lifted the spirit of sportsmanship in students and ensured healthy competition in them.
