Epic Public School recently witnessed a spirited and meticulously organised student election to elect its House Captains and School Captains, transforming its campus into a vibrant ground of democratic action and youthful enthusiasm.
Students from Classes 5 to 9 participated in the election process to elect their respective House Captains and Vice-Captains. Each house — Agni (Red), Jal (Blue), Vayu (Yellow), and Prithvi (Green) — voted for their own nominees. Meanwhile, the coveted titles of School Captain (Boy and Girl) and their Vice-Captains were decided by a special vote cast by the school’s teaching staff and students.
Speaking to Epic Words, Dr. Sanjukta Saha, Principal of the school, remarked,
““Election is one of the most important tools in democracy. It is important for us to educate our children on the power of voting. At Epic Public School, we always believe in the holistic development of a child to form a better society and thus make a better country. Hence we undertake various such initiatives to develop the students.”
Echoing the same sentiment, Mr. Biswajit Jha, Director of the school, added,
“It was not just a student election. It was conducted with complete professionalism, where even indelible ink was used after the students cast their vote. This will not only provide our students a better understanding of the election process but also allow them to choose who would be the captain of the houses and the school.”
Teachers acted as returning officers and observers, ensuring the election was smooth, transparent, and fair.

The school community now eagerly looks forward to the Investiture Ceremony, scheduled to be held on Saturday, 31st May, where the newly elected leaders will don their badges and formally take up their roles.
