Join our Director Biswajit Jha in celebrating the power of young minds and the art of storytelling in Epic Words.
My Dear Students,
I am absolutely thrilled to inform you that the response I have received from you all for Epic Words, the web magazine of Epic Public School, has been nothing short of extraordinary. Despite not having students from higher classes, our pupils in classes 4 to 8 have shown what our students are capable of achieving in the days to come. It fills my heart with joy to share the fact that the readers of Epic Words are not just from all across India, but your stories are also now reaching audiences in far-off countries like the United States of America, England, Ireland, Australia, and beyond.
When I first considered introducing Epic Words, many discouraged me, saying that we wouldn’t have enough contributions to run a full-fledged web magazine. But I did not back down. As a firm believer in the potential of my students, I went ahead with my plan and, with tremendous support from all of you, our hardworking teachers, and the guardians, made the seemingly impossible, possible.
I would like to extend my special thanks to our Managing Editor, Mr. Somashis Gupta, and Deputy Editor, Ms. Bidisha Chakraborty, for their tireless efforts in bringing Epic Words to life. Last but not least, I would like to thank our Principal, Dr. Sanjukta Saha, for encouraging all of us to ensure the final product was ready on time.
As you all know, Epic Public School always encourages you to be creative in whatever you do, and Epic Words is helping you grow your creative muscles in a big way. Writing is a wonderful endeavour. It’s not easy, but it’s not terribly difficult either. Writing is a skill that can be learned. I believe everyone can write. Some students find writing effortless, but they still need training to hone their skills. And those who find writing more challenging can also learn the art of writing with the right training and guidance.
Recognising the importance of training in the development of writing skills, our Managing Editor conducts online classes on the Art of Writing every Sunday. Additionally, he visits the campus quarterly in person to conduct interactive classes. His classes have already helped many of you improve your writing skills.
As the author of two books—Bike Ambulance Dada and Modern Buddha—I can assure you that I am always here on campus to help you take your writing skills to the next level.
My dear students, you know that I am a dreamer. I always dream of your bright futures. I dream that one day many of my students will showcase their creative talents to the world. I eagerly await the day when you help me realise this dream.
Thank you, with much love and many blessings.
Your Director Sir,
Biswajit Jha
