A gripping tale of mystery and self-discovery, where a young man follows a forbidden map to an abandoned graveyard—only to uncover that the greatest family treasure is mental peace and happiness.
(FLASHBACK)
“Never go there. You are a good boy, right?” my mother said, warning me not to go to that haunted place.
“Okay, Mom, but why do you keep telling me this? What’s so scary about the place?” I asked, curious to know the mystery behind it.
“Never ask about that,” she said, as always, and walked off.
(PRESENT TIME)
Yes, that was the answer I used to get, and my question remained unsolved forever.
(I am Kiaan Julian Christopher, a Mumbaiker who works for an international company and is a workaholic.)
My life was a complete mess. I was stressed all the time until yesterday, when I met a Bhairavi Mata who told me, “Be careful! A great blow will come in your life.”
“Then what should I do, Mata?” I asked her, confused and scared.
“Find your family treasure,” she said and walked off.
She left me bewildered. What and where was my family treasure? I asked myself.
It is time to solve your unanswered question, a voice inside me said.
That day, I went back home and broke open the untouched room that contained my ancestral belongings—a room I was never allowed to enter.
I entered the room, locked it from the inside, and started searching the dusty place frantically. I didn’t know what the Bhairavi Mata meant or what I should do, but this was my only choice.
I found a lot of old, vintage papers. Some were religious, some were just old scraps, and one was a map.
A map leading to the place my mother had warned me never to go—the place that held my unanswered question.
I hurried and eventually found myself at the abandoned graveyard.
I wasn’t allowed to go any farther, but the map led only in that direction.
I stepped into the graveyard, slow and steady, followed the map, and finally found my ancestral grave. I found an axe lying beside it and used it to engrave the surface.
Inside, I found a maroon-coloured book with its title engraved in pure gold.
I sat there and started reading the book, right in the middle of the graveyard.
I don’t know if I found the treasure that had brought me here, but I must have found the most important treasure of my life.
This was the last line of the book:
“If you are the person who has found this book, you are lucky. You have unlocked the door to mental peace and happiness, which was the answer to your unsolved question. This is nothing but the greatest treasure in the world.”
