Yes, you heard that right – ball lightning! 💥 Imagine a glowing ball, floating and zooming in the air like a magical orb from a wizard’s wand. Some say it’s the size of a cricket ball, others say it can be as big as a football! And the most amazing part? Scientists still don’t fully understand it!
This glowing mystery was first officially reported on 7th June, 1195 by a monk named Gervase in Canterbury, England. That’s more than 800 years ago! 👨⚕️🌩️

✨ Taj Mahal – A Love Story in Marble (1631)
On 17th June, 1631, Begum Mumtaz Mahal, the beloved wife of Emperor Shah Jahan, passed away. Her death was so heartbreaking that Shah Jahan decided to build the Taj Mahal, one of the most beautiful monuments in the world, as a tribute to her. It was on this day in 1632, when Shah Jahan visited the site of Taj and saw the progress and made a few architectural changes. And that is how we see The Taj as it is today. 💖

☠️ The Great Plague of London (1665)
Once there was a diary, it belonged to Samuel Pepys, and it had an event recorded from 1665 on the 7th of June. It informs us of the Great Plague of London where Samuel writes about the houses marked with a red cross in London’s Drury Lane, which probably was the quarantine centre during those time. The cross symbolised somebody inside is infected with the plague and must be locked in for 40 days or until death. It also mentions of the phrase “Lord have mercy upon us” which was written on these houses. This was a grim sign of the widespread fear and devastation caused by the plague.
🚂 Gandhiji’s First Step to Freedom (1893)
Do you know how Gandhiji started his revolt against the British? It all started on 7th June 1893. Gandhiji was forcibly removed from a first-class train compartment in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa, where he was practicing law. And he was thrown out because he refused to give up his seat to a white passenger due to racial segregation laws, marking his first significant act of civil disobedience. This event sparked his philosophy of “Satyagraha,” when he came back to India and laid the foundation for his non-violent resistance movement against British rule in India. 🤝 Nehru’s Historic Visit to USSR (1955)
India and Russia are great friends today, but did you know it all started when Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru visited the Soviet Union on 7th June, 1955? That visit built a strong bond that still exists today! 🌏💬
Previously 15 countries were a part of Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR) or Soviet Union including Russia. It was formed way back in 1922 and was disintegrated in 1991. Here is a video of that visit.
🏏 Cricket World Cup Begins! (1975)
Love cricket? Then you’ll love this! The very first Cricket World Cup began on 7th June, 1975. And guess who played the opening match? India vs England at the legendary Lord’s Stadium in London! England scored 334, and India only 132… but it was just the beginning of something BIG in cricket history! 🏏🌍

🛰️ Bhaskara-I – India’s Eye in the Sky (1979)
Ever heard of Bhaskara-I? No, not your classmate! 😄
On 7th June 1979, India launched its first Earth observation satellite, Bhaskara-I, from the Soviet Union. It was named after the brilliant Indian mathematician Bhaskara I, who lived way back in the 7th century. It helped study our Earth from space and marked the beginning of India’s journey into space exploration! 🚀🌏
So what did we learn today, explorers?
