Two students save a stray black puppy from a road accident near a garage, protect the puppy from chasing dogs, and find the puppy a safe home. Read Chirag Ghosh’s real-life tale of how one puppy named Lucky changed everything.
It was one ordinary afternoon, when me and my friend were dropped off by the school bus. We were dropped near a garage, just like usual days. From there, we walk and go home everyday.
That day was going fine, as usual, but suddenly my friend spotted a cute black colored small puppy. We got very excited and decided to go near it. Just then, a school van, which came out of nowhere, was about to hit the little life. My friend, seeing this, quickly told the driver of the van to stop. The puppy was saved from a huge accident. Then, I went and picked up the adorable animal in my arms.
We did not want to leave it alone, as it was too little and anything could happen to it. We were standing there for quite a while and were thinking, from where this cute little animal might come from, who their guardians were, and many more queries.
There was a man standing nearby, repairing a bike. He asked, “Why don’t you take this doggy home?”
“Our parents won’t allow it”, we told the man. That was actually a problem.
By that time, it was also getting late and after thinking a lot, we decided to leave the puppy there, hoping anyone else would take care of it. But it followed us wherever we went and did not leave us. We felt that we must take care of it. I suggested my friend to keep it somewhere near our home, so that we could meet it every day and it would remain safe there.
When we were on our way, suddenly, two big untied dogs came chasing us.We got frightened because we thought that it was chasing us.We quickly ran and hid near my friend’s house, but then we realized that they were not chasing us,they were chasing that doggy. But the life was too small to run from these big animals. We felt very sad, as we thought the big dogs might have hurt the puppy. We lost all hopes, and started to go back to our respective homes, sad and broken.
Suddenly a lady shouted from behind, “Hey, who will take this dog?”. It was none other than the owner of the big dogs. We were relieved that nothing had happened to the puppy and were happy to see it again. Then, I went to take the puppy and thanked the lady.
Now, we got very tensed about the puppy, as it was full of danger. We had to keep this puppy in either of our homes, we thought. I told my friend, “My parents are very strict, they will not allow me to keep this puppy”.
“My parents are not so strict, I can have a talk with them, maybe they will agree”, my friend told me.
I requested him,to speak to his mother. He went in and at that time, I got very tensed. Finally, he came out with a smile in his face.”They agreed”, he said.
We were very happy. I was getting late, so I told my friend to clean it and give it something to eat and went home.
That day, we were very happy that we rescued a puppy and saved a life. Now, every day when I come back from school, I go to my friend’s house to meet the puppy. We also named it Lucky as we were very lucky to meet it.
