A group of five friends investigates the mystery of a silent lady in a white saree after Raj believes he has seen a ghost called Mohini. A suspenseful horror story with friendship, humor, and an unexpected ending.
Once upon a time, five friends lived in the same society. They loved playing cricket. On holidays and weekends, they spent almost the entire day playing together. The five friends were Ilyas, Raj, Bunty, Binod, and Vaibhav.

Among them, Raj was the most timid. Whenever he talked about ghosts, he called them “Mohini.”
One Saturday, the friends planned to play cricket at night. However, Raj did not come because he had to attend a birthday party.
The next day, Sunday, they planned to play again at noon. Everyone came except Raj. Ilyas and Binod became curious.
“You two wait here,” Ilyas said to Bunty and Vaibhav. “Binod and I will go and see what the matter is.”
They went to Raj’s house and rang the doorbell. Raj’s father opened the door and said, “Come in.”
When they entered, they saw Raj sitting on the sofa, wrapped in a blanket with a frightened and tense expression.
Ilyas asked, “Raj, what happened? Why do you look so scared?”
Raj replied, “Nothing happened.”
Bunty said, “Your father scolded you, didn’t he? Don’t take parents’ words too seriously. Let them go in one ear and out the other. My parents scold me all the time. Have I changed?”
Raj’s father was sitting nearby, reading a newspaper. He lowered the newspaper slightly, looked at Binod, smiled, and then continued reading.
Ilyas thought to himself, What an unconcerned father!
Raj shook his head and said, “That’s not the matter.”
After trying hard to convince Raj to come with them, Ilyas and Binod finally succeeded, and all of them went to play cricket.
While they were playing, Ilyas suddenly noticed that Raj kept staring outside the society’s entrance gate instead of concentrating on the game.
After the match, the friends gathered together and started chatting.
Suddenly, Ilyas asked, “Raj, tell us what happened. You’re usually such a chill person. Why have you suddenly become so scared?”
Raj took a deep breath and said, “While I was returning from the birthday party, I saw a lady wearing a white saree. At first, nothing seemed unusual. But when I walked past her, I realized she wasn’t moving at all—not even blinking.”
“I felt a little scared, but I kept walking. After I had gone some distance, I looked back and saw that she was much closer to me. I couldn’t understand how she got there. I thought she had teleported, and I became even more frightened.”

“I ran as fast as I could until I reached our society. Then I looked outside the entrance gate and saw the same lady standing there. I rushed home and went straight to bed.”
Bunty, who was the most innocent among them, immediately hugged Raj and said, “My friend, God has truly blessed you. Nothing happened to you.”
Meanwhile, Ilyas, Binod, and Vaibhav burst into laughter.
After a while, Bunty said, “Tonight, let’s all go to the entrance gate and see what really happens.”
Everyone agreed except Vaibhav, whose parents would not allow him to go.
The remaining four friends somehow convinced the society’s secretary to accompany them.
That night, each of them told their parents, “We’ll be back in ten minutes.” Their parents agreed.
The secretary walked in front while Ilyas, Binod, Raj, and Bunty followed behind him.
As they walked around the society, Ilyas and Binod decided to play a prank.
Ilyas suddenly pointed into the darkness and shouted, “Look! A ghost is standing over there!”
He even started making spooky sounds.
Raj and Bunty screamed in fear while Ilyas and Binod laughed loudly.
Then Binod teased Raj by asking, “Is that Mohini, the ghost that scared you?”
Raj ignored him while Ilyas continued laughing.
A few moments later, they reached the society’s entrance gate.
To everyone’s surprise, the lady in the white saree was standing there exactly as Raj had described—completely still.
Raj and Bunty became terrified and immediately ran back to their homes.
Ilyas and Binod quickly grabbed the secretary’s arm.
The secretary picked up a stone and shouted, “Who are you?”
Then he threw the stone toward the lady.
Suddenly, the lady lifted her saree slightly and started running awkwardly—like a penguin.
Everyone burst into laughter.
At that moment, they realized she was not a ghost after all, because a ghost would never lift its saree and run like a penguin. She was simply an ordinary person who had frightened Raj by standing unusually still.
