Get ready to be awestruck!
I am flying to… I am off to explore a different continent.
I am Shristi, and I am here again to travel. As you know, I love traveling to far-off places.
So, let’s zoom in!
I didn’t even know where we were going; I just knew that we were heading to Delhi first. I was very curious, but I was helpless as my mother asked me to be patient for the big surprise. So, I had to wait until the last day. It was a great astonishment for me!
I started with a hot air balloon ride above the city of Luxor. I saw the whole city from the sky, and it was amazing.
Then, I headed to the Valley of the Kings. The next stop was the Temple of Hatshepsut. In the evening, I went to the Luxor Temple, and believe me, I was stunned to see the number of pillars. Wherever I looked, I could see pillars. I ended the day with a nice dinner and a breathtaking view of the Nile.
The next morning, I went to Karnak Temple. It was so rich in history. Then, I said a lovely goodbye to the city of Luxor and headed to Giza, the city of Pyramids. I checked into the hotel, and when I went to the rooftop, I was just…
“Oh, am I really looking directly at the pyramids?!”
“It’s the Sphinx!”
This was my reaction, and I couldn’t stop myself from taking photos. It was nighttime, so I ate dinner at the rooftop restaurant with a lovely view of the pyramids.
The next day, I woke up with a big smile because I knew we were going inside the famous Red Pyramid and several others. I would also get the chance to touch the great stones of the pyramids, and my parents told me they were almost my size! I jumped out of bed and got ready to explore. First, I went to the Great Pyramid of Giza, and then I visited the Red Pyramid, the Bent Pyramid, and the Step Pyramid. The day ended with a journey to the city of Sharm El Sheikh.
The next morning, I found myself exploring the resort while the others were checking in. As soon as I saw the swimming pool, I wanted to jump in right then and there, but I knew I couldn’t. So, I went to the room and came back in my swimsuit with my cousin, Ishika. We spent almost an hour there. Afterward, we took a little rest, dressed up, and went to a famous mosque. We spent about half an hour there, and later in the evening, we went to the famous Farsha Cafe.
It is a major attraction in Sharm El Sheikh. As I stepped inside, it gave off incredible Arabian vibes; I felt like I had entered the world of Aladdin.
The following day was full of activities. We all went to experience a yacht ride on the Red Sea. In the middle of the sea, everyone went snorkeling except for my cousin and me. The whole experience was mesmerizing. At night, we traveled to Cairo.
Now, the tour was almost over, but something interesting was still left. Didn’t the question cross your mind: “You went to Egypt but didn’t see mummies?” Well, yes, we did see mummies!
After reaching Cairo, we visited the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization. There, we saw the royal mummies, which were absolutely amazing. I never expected that I would actually get to see the mummies of Egypt. As the sun set over the Nile, we came to the end of our journey through Egypt. From the majestic pyramids to the mysterious Nile, everything was wonderful. Who knows? Someday you may find yourself standing before the pyramids, gazing up at them. Until then, keep your curiosity alive!
