A spooky, story by Anusree Roy from Class 5, Epic Public Schol where a mysterious visit turns into an unforgettable day when young Riya discovers a hidden secret about her cousin Bipasha.
Hello, I am Riya, and today I will tell you about my mysterious cousin Bipasha. So let’s start the story.
This morning, when I woke up and looked at the calendar, I was very happy. It was 30th March, Sunday.
Do you know why I was so happy? Because today I was going to visit my cousin Bipasha at her house!
I quickly cleaned my bed, brushed my teeth, took a bath, and got ready. Then, my mom, dad, sister, and I ate our breakfast and left for Bipasha’s house.
When we reached there, I saw my aunty and uncle, but I didn’t see Bipasha. I asked aunty, “Where is Bipasha?”
Aunty said, “She is in her bedroom.”
I went to her room and called out, “Bipasha!”
She looked at me with surprise. Then we both smiled and had fun together. We played games, talked, and spent the whole day laughing.
After some time, we all had lunch. Then Bipasha and I went back to her room. We played Ludo and Antakshari. Later, we had some snacks too.
But then something strange happened.
I was sitting in her room when I suddenly heard a loud scary noise. I got scared and called out, “Bipasha! Did you hear that?”
But when I turned around—Bipasha was not there!
I looked around the room. She was gone! I started searching for her. Then, I heard the scary noise again. I followed the sound and reached the right corner of the house.
The noise was coming from an old library. I was surprised because no one ever goes there. But today, it was unlocked.
I was both scared and excited. Slowly, I opened the library door. Everything looked normal inside—just old books everywhere.
But then I walked into a small room inside the library. What I saw next was unbelievable.
I saw Bipasha standing there. She was chanting something, and suddenly—she turned into a ghost! She started shouting loudly.
That was the same scary noise I had heard from her bedroom!
I got very frightened and ran to my mom and dad’s room. I told them everything that had happened.
My mom said, “Beta, that library has been locked for many years. I don’t think Bipasha would ever go there. You don’t know this house very well. Maybe you went the wrong way.”
“But Mom,” I said, “I heard the sound from Bipasha’s room! And it came from that library!”
“Stop, Riya!” shouted Papa. “You must have heard something else. Go back now.”
When I returned to Bipasha’s room, she was sitting there, quietly watching her mobile.
I wanted to say something, but just then aunty called us for dinner. We all had our food together. After dinner, Mom, Dad, my sister, and I said goodbye and left for home.
But in my heart, I kept thinking—what was that mystery?
Was it real?
What is happening with Bipasha and her family?
No one knows.
