Bidisha Chakraborty, Assistant Teacher, shares a report on the school’s celebration of the 163rd birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore.
“Death is not extinguishing the light; it is only putting out the lamp because the dawn has come.” – Rabindranath Tagore
Epic Public School celebrated the 163rd birth anniversary of Rabindra Nath Tagore with so much vigour and zeal. The main programme was held under a banyan tree decorated with hand-drawn pictures and Tagore’s quotes.
The auspicious day started with a soulful Rabindra Sangeet sung by our little students clad in traditional Bengali attire. Then our Director Sir, Shri Biswajit Jha, enlightened us about the greatness of Tagore, by discussing Tagore’s achievements and explaining how he was appreciated by all.
Our talented students showcased their skills and paid tribute with their songs and recitations.
And as the poet had described once; Dance is the hidden language of the soul. Our students danced to share their joy, their symphony with the music was like ripples on water. Their movements were lucid and so transparent that they could make the onlookers feel their passion and emotion.
And if the dance was good the drama perhaps was the best. Our little buds blossomed on the stage, carrying out perfectly their roles of Mini, Kabuliwala, and Mini’s parents. They seemed professional, with movements full of poise and expressions showing a maturity that’s rare to see at such a young age. The programme was truly a treat to all the Tagore lovers out there who follow the notions of human brotherhood, and have faith in the fundamental unity of mankind.
Our students are growing up following this principle where they learn from nature, sing with the birds, and dance in the sound of wind and the rustling of leaves. They are progressing towards a better future filled with traditional values and modern innovative thinking. Epic is helping them to achieve more milestones in their journey which we hope to witness more in the future.
