“Creativity is thinking up new things. Innovation is doing new things.”
-Theodore Levitt
In Epic, students believe in two pillars – Innovation and compassion. They actively participate in thinking and creating new things, beyond only their academics. Keeping this in mind, Epic Public School held a grand opening ceremony of their Innovation and Skill Lab on 5th August, 2026.
The Chief guest at the program was the Hon’ble Speaker of West Bengal Legislative Assembly, Rathindra Bose, who initiated the program by lighting the lamp along with the other guests.
The program was then carried forward by a shloka performance by the students, followed by a cultural dance and the national song that was sung by the students, rooting them to their motherland.
The Hon’ble Speaker then parted words of wisdom to the students, saying, “To keep pace with the 21st-century education system, it is essential to inspire students with modern technology and innovative thinking. This Innovation Lab will help students acquire practical knowledge beyond their conventional education.”
According to the school’s Principal and Director, this lab will provide students with opportunities to engage in coding, robotics, and various scientific research activities. These practical experiences will help cultivate creative thinking and an innovative mindset among the youth.
The main highlight of the program was the ribbon cutting ceremony, which marked the new beginning of the school’s innovation lab. The students presented several of their projects to the Hon’ble Speaker.
The students have enjoyed innovating new things and solving real-life problems throughout the years. In Epic, students are taught that ‘innovation without compassion is simply a recipe for destruction’. By this, two values, innovation and compassion are intrigued within students from a very young age.
Teachers, parents, and students of the school were present at the event and shared their valuable perspectives. Above all, tremendous enthusiasm was observed among the students upon receiving this new, modern laboratory, which paved the way for the students to achieve huge milestones in the future.
