Toushini Bhattacharya, a fourth-grade student, recounts an extraordinary journey she took with her family to her uncle’s house in Assam. During this trip, she enjoyed scenic bus rides, participated in cultural festivities during the Bihu festival, and crossed the iconic Naranarayan Setu.
One day, my mother and I suddenly decided to visit my uncle’s house. I hadn’t been there for a long time. When my father came home, I told him seriously that we needed to go. Seeing how serious I was, he agreed. He told us that my uncle’s house was in Assam, and we decided to leave in two days.
Two days later, we left in the morning. On the bus ride, I saw beautiful natural scenery through the window: small hills, forest roads, and more. The best part was when the bus crossed a double-decker bridge called Naranarayan Setu, named after King Naranarayan of Cooch Behar. This trip was even more exciting because it was during the Bihu festival. I was very happy and enjoyed the festival a lot.
