Epic Public School celebrated Diwali 2024 with a joyful event across both campuses, featuring diya decoration, rangoli making, and a visit to an old age home to spread love and light. A report by Prianka Tiwari and Bidisha Chakraborty, Assistant Teachers, Epic Public School
In an attempt to spread the message of love, laughter, and light, Epic Public School organised a pre-Diwali celebration across both its campuses on October 30, 2024.
Students and teachers alike took a keen interest in diya decoration and rangoli making to adorn the campus. On the day of the celebration, students arrived dressed in beautiful traditional attire, their enthusiasm boundless as they eagerly participated in every aspect of the festivities. They were captivated by the sight of their institute adorned with vibrant rangolis and enjoyed every moment of the fun-filled celebration.
At the Kakribari Campus, senior students participated in a rangoli-making competition and decorated notice boards. Every corner of the school was transformed with rangoli and crafts, showcasing the students’ artistic talents. Their creativity brought colour to the school, while their laughter filled the atmosphere with cheer.
“You give but little when you give of your possessions. It is when you give of yourself that you truly give,” as said by Kahlil Gibran. Diwali, like any celebration, is about sharing joy. Our little “Santas” embodied this spirit by visiting a nearby old age home, accompanied by a few teachers. They brought small tokens of love, including diyas they had decorated, to brighten the lives of the elderly residents. In return, they received tenfold the warmth and affection. The children’s touch and smiles touched hearts that had long yearned for love.
With their display of compassion, our students won hearts and made the festival truly meaningful. They made us proud and demonstrated that learning goes beyond textbooks and technology, often gained through experiences like these. Their actions show that we are nurturing a generation that is both practical and deeply rooted in values.
