In this part Shaborni Mitra, Class 6, Epic Public School shares how Ruhi, Rishika, and Ishika’s picnic turns into a terrifying ordeal after the phone call. A past insult comes back to haunt them as they are kidnapped by Rahul, seeking revenge.
In the previous part of this series, I narrated how a snob girl named Ruhi makes a plan with her friends, Rishika and Ishiks to go for a picnic. But at night she receives a mysterious phone call threatening her. She ignores and goes for the outing the next day in a cab. But then they realise that they were being kidnapped.
After that ….
As the four unknown figures approached the car, the three friends sitting inside felt fear to the core of their bones. It was then that Rishika remembered the mysterious phone call she received the night before.
She thought for a while, and looked at her friends, then almost immediately, she spoke surprising everyone, “listen,” she said, “I think I know the reason behind all this that is happening to us.” Her friends were surprised, and she continued “But first we have to pretend as if we are sleeping. Okay?”
“But look at these men. They are coming towards our car. I am too scared,” Ishika reacted.
“Oh Shut up and pretend to sleep, I am sure Rishika has a plan,” Ruhi instructed, and the three friends closed their eyes pretending to sleep as two men approached the car and opened the door, Ruhi could not resist her curiosity, she opened her eyes slightly and what she saw left her face dark but she remained absolutely quiet. She saw the two men and could recognise one of them instantly. It was none other than Rahul.
Who is Rahul? Well, go on, read the story.
Rahul was a student of the same college where Ruhi, Ishika, and Rishika used to study. One day Ruhi slapped Rahul in front of several people in their college.
A few months back…
It was a cloudy day that day, students reached the college one by one. Soon the playground was buzzing with the noise of the pupils all across. Ruhi had reached the college with her snob attitude. Ishika and Rishika had been waiting for her and waved as they saw her at the front gate. Soon the three friends shook hands, but then to their surprise, they found a young fellow approached Rushi. This young fellow was none other than Rahul.
“Can we be friends?” he asked approaching Ruhi in the most romantic voice possible. But Ruhi as she was turned towards him with a look of ignorance and pride.
After measuring him from top to toe said, “Have you seen yourself in the mirror?” she again gave him that look of ignorance and said, “I don’t befriend beggars like you.”
“But I just want to be….” Rahul could not complete his statement as Ruhi slapped him hard in front of everyone.
And Now…
After recognising Rahul, Ruhi looked at the other boy who came with Rahul. Though she could not recognise him, but could easily see the fear in his eyes as Rahul gave him instructions. Rahul said, “Keep an eye on them and make sure they do not escape. I will be back shortly.”
“Okay.” The boy replied in a tone of fear as Rahul went away.
The boy closed the door of the cab, went a little further, and started calling someone on his phone. The three friends slowly opened their eyes, making sure that they were not being noticed. Finally, Ishika said Rishika asked Ruhi about the reason behind all this. Ruhi narrated the entire incident about the phone call and the incident with Rahul.
“Oh my god!! Rishika reacted “Now what we will do?”
“I wish there were a phone so that we could call the police.” Ishika regreated.
“We have to escape somehow,” Ruhi said as they saw the other boy talking over his phone quite far from the cab. They came out of the cab silently but when they tried to run, three people came and closed their mouths with cloths and all three fell unconscious.
When Ruhi woke up she found herself in a room where she was sitting in a chair and her legs and hands were tied by a strong rope. She looked around and found her friends too were tied up like her. Then as she turned her eyes she found Rahul sitting right in front of her.
“Why have you brought us here? What do you want?” She asked Rahul in a trembling voice and Rahul started laughing.
By this time Ishika and Rishika had woken up, and Rahul started speaking “Don’t you remember how you had slapped me in front of all the students in college? No one dares to touch me, and you, you slapped me. Now it is time for you to face the consequences. Slapping me or hitting me leads to the death of that person and NOW NOW NOW you have to die” said Rahul in a loud voice.
Ruhi started Begging for her life. But Rahul ignored her and started speaking to Ishika and Rishika, “And as far as you two are concerned, well so sad you too will have to die as you heard everything I said.” Saying this Rahul started calling the four people who had come with him. But then only three of them appeared, the one who had opened the door with Rahul was nowhere to be seen. Rahul asked about him but the others had no clue of where that boy was.
It was then that Rahul spoke the worst nightmare for the three girls, he said “Give me a gun.”
The three friends were very frightened and they realised that they couldn’t escape from him. But just when he was ready to shoot them, some policemen broke the door and entered. Rahul and his companions were shocked and the three friends took a breath of relief. One police officer opened their ropes and asked “Who had called us?”
“We did not call the police.” The three friends replied.
It was then that the missing boy who was asked by Rahul to keep an eye on the three girls by Rahul appeared on the spot and said. “I have called the police sir , my name is Shreyan. Rahul who was my friend forced me to help him in this crime but I was very frightened, then finally I decided to call the police.”
“Oh, great job done Shreyan.” Remarked the police officer.
As the police were taking Rahul and his three friends into their custody, the three friends thanked Shreyan and the police officer.
That day after they returned back home, they narrated the entire incident to their father. Both the fathers were furious and scolded their daughters after listening to all the things.
At night, they called each other and promised that they would never insult or show any attitude full of pride ever in their life not even by mistake.
The story teaches us that we should not show off anything that belongs to us. The three friends had an attitude for their father’s property, not for their property. If we will do hard work then we will be at a good person. People will respect us for our position more than our parents position.
