Dhriya Das, a student of Class VI, shares an imaginative and entertaining story about a family that moves to a mysterious bungalow in Malaysia. Blending mystery, adventure, and humor, the story keeps readers engaged until its surprising dream-ending twist.
Mr. Millar had just transferred from the USA to Malaysia with his family: his son, daughter, and wife, whose name was Nora. His daughter’s name was Daisy, and his son’s name was Deon.
“Oh! Mom, I am so excited to see our new house. I wonder what it will be like?” said Daisy.
“Yes, Mom, I am also very eager to see our new house,” said Deon.
“Yes, yes, children, I know how thrilled you are. Actually, I am also very eager to see it,” said Nora.
“There you are!” came the voice of the driver, Leon.
The four of them came out with so much luggage, and there stood a wonderful, huge house shining as the sunlight fell on it.
“Oh my God! Wonderful, amazing, so huge and bright. Are we going to stay here, Dad?” said Daisy.
“Yes, my dear. This is our new house. We are going to stay here as long as I am not transferred somewhere else,” said David, Daisy and Deon’s dad.
They entered the huge bungalow. Deon was very imaginative. When he entered the bungalow, he saw that at the top of the bungalow it was written in red paint: “LEAVE FROM HERE.” He immediately informed his mother.
“Hahahaha! Really, stop fooling me. We all know how imaginative you are.” Deon’s words were ignored by his mother. But he knew it was true.
The next morning: Rise and Shine.
“Daisy! Daisy! Wake up! We have to go for your and Deon’s admission to The Alice Smith School. Hurry up, or else we are going to be late,” said Nora.
“Oh, it is morning. I dreamt that…” Suddenly Daisy started panting. She suddenly started to shout, “Help! Help! Help! Somebody please help!”
“Daisy! Daisy! What’s wrong, dear? Here you are, drink some water. And tell me peacefully what you actually saw in your dream.”
Daisy finally felt a little bit better and said, “I saw that I was lost in the South Pole and no one was there to help. When you were calling me, I felt that someone was squeezing my neck. When I woke up, I still could not come out of my dream, and I felt that someone was squeezing my neck, so I shouted.”
“See, I told you I was not fooling you, but no one listened to me,” said Deon.
Nora, Daisy, and Deon felt very worried and decided to inform David about this. They all went to his room and explained everything. David was very scientific. He just listened to them curiously. After listening, he said, “Hahahaha! Oh my God! Sorry for laughing, but look at yourselves — you guys are so cowardly. Okay, if you really feel that there is a ghost, then take his or her signature, click photos with him or her, and show me. Ghost! Ghost! These are useless talks. Now go and get ready. We have to go also. Go!”
“Really, how could you just ignore our words? Do you think it’s the time to joke? Seriously?” said Nora.
“Yes, now forget this topic and go get ready, or else we will be late, and you know how punctual I am. I should not go beyond my life rules,” said David.
“Good morning, so you are the new kids who are going to be one of our students,” said the principal of the Alice Smith School.
Oh yes, friends, Mr. Millar and his family reached the school. The children gave an admission test.
“Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Millar, your children passed the test,” said Ms. N, Vice Principal of the school.
Then Mr. and Mrs. Millar went home. The day passed very quickly.
“Oh, Mom, the soup and sandwiches are very yummy,” said Deon.
Mr. David had a lot of business pressure, so he stayed at his company only.
“Knock! Knock! Little Daisy, open the door and take a look at who it is. Open! Open! Open!”
“Oh, coming. Who is it? Are you my Uncle George? He often talks like that,” said Daisy.
“No! No! Help! Help! Help.”
“Oh, young lady, coward. I am your Uncle George who often talks like that. Young lady, if you convince your parents to leave from here, then I won’t disturb you again.”
“Oh my god, you are so dirty. Let me take a look — so long and dirty nails, dirty clothes. You are a ghost, fine, but you are so dirty. First, take a shower, cut your nails, and wear clean clothes. Otherwise, you don’t know me,” said young lady Daisy.
By the way, young and old learners, would you also do the same as Daisy? Anyway, let’s move back to the story.
The ghost: “Oh my God, what kind of girl are you? Aren’t you afraid of me? I am a real ghost.”
“Oh my God, you are a ghost. Help! Help! Deon. Are you happy now that I am scared? I know, stop it now. You are Uncle George, aren’t you?” said Daisy.
“No, I am a real ghost. Look, I can move things here to there without even touching them,” said the ghost.
Then he moved the flower vase from the table to the floor.
“Oh my God! Help me! It’s a real ghost. Ghost Uncle, tell me, when should we move from here?” said Daisy, shouting loudly enough to wake the dead. The ghost itself was scared by Daisy’s voice.
“You rewound my ear. Now I am sending you to your room. Go and tell your mother what I just told you to do. Go!” said the ghost.
“Mom! Deon! There’s… there’s a real ghost here! The ghost said that if we leave this place, he will not disturb us again,” said Daisy, panting.
Friends, are you scared? I don’t think you are scared because I know all of you are very brave. Anyways, let’s move back to the story.
“I said to David, but who will make him understand now?” said Nora.
“Mom, I think we should not waste more time. We should inform this to Dad,” Deon expressed his opinion.
“Yes, children, don’t be afraid. I am informing this to your dad right now. Just wait a moment,” said Nora.
“Hello! Where are you? No matter where you are, come here immediately. We are leaving this place right now. Strange things happened to me, Deon, and Daisy. If you want to stay here, stay. We don’t care, but we are leaving this palace,” said Nora.
“Oh, really? Fine, if you guys are so scared, let’s leave this place,” said David.
“Leave this place, leave this place. Huh! What happened, Mom? Why did you wake me up?”
“So what else could I do, my dear? You were talking while sleeping. Did you go mad? Get ready for school. The winter vacation is over. The bus will be here very soon,” said my mom.
Actually, friends, this entire story was my dream. By the way, do you also speak while sleeping like me?
