Mahi Banik, a fifth-grader, charmingly recounts her indecisive journey of choosing where to go in her poem. She playfully deliberates between various activities and places, weighing their pros and cons with uncertainty and humor.
TO GO OR NOT TO GO
I will go
I won’t say no.
But I am thinking
Where should I go?
I don’t know
Where will I go?
I think I will go to see the puppet show.
But, I don’t know where will I go?
I can go to see the river.
But, what if I catch fever.
I can go to the forest.
As that is the closest.
But there are lots of honey bees!
The thought of their bite makes me freeze
I want to play badminton but I have no racket.
So should I just go and fetch my jacket
Where will I go now I don’t know.
I can’t go at night
Because there are mosquito bites.
I can play with my toy
At home, as it is full of joy.
