“Snakes Terror” is a captivating story by Amritakshi Das, a Class 5 student, about bravery, curiosity, and the importance of staying safe when faced with the unknown.
My name is Amritakshi Das. And I am a student of the fifth standard of Epic Public School. Today let me share with you a story that I feel you will not only like but also learn a few lessons from it. The name of my story is “Snakes Terror “
The story is from a time unknown, but I presume it is quite old. But time here is not important, so let me narrate the story. It is about a girl named Lilly. She was a kind and cheerful girl who lived in a small village in the California province. Lilly enjoyed almost everything she played, but what she loved most was playing badminton. She was considered one of the best players in her school. Everyone praised her skill, but what made Lilly special was her kind and brave heart.
The incident takes us to a sunny afternoon when Lilly was playing badminton along with her friends in the field near her house. The birds were chirping and the wind was soothing. Everyone was having a great time that afternoon. While playing Lilly hit the shuttlecock so hard that it went flying far, far away and it landed in the garden of an old, abandoned house at the edge of the field.
The house looked creepy as it had broken windows, a rusty gate. Moreover there were vines growing all over the walls. Everyone in the village called it the “creepy house.” It belonged to old man John who died few years back.
Lilly told her friends, “I don’t want to go to Old John’s house. I am scared.”
But her friends laughed and said, “Don’t be scared, Lilly! It’s just an old house. You’re the one who hit the shuttlecock. You have to go and get it!”
Lilly didn’t want to disappoint her friends, so she gathered all her courage and walked towards the creepy house. Her heart was beating fast as she opened the squeaky gate. It made a loud creaking sound that sent shivers down her spine.
“Be brave, Lilly,” she whispered to herself as she stepped into the garden.
Lilly carefully looked around and finally found the shuttlecock lying under a bush. She was about to leave when something shiny caught her eye. It was a small wooden box lying on a dusty old table near the door of the house. The box had strange carvings on it, and it looked very old. Lilly felt curious.
“What could be inside this box?” she wondered. She thought for a moment and then decided to open it.
As soon as Lilly opened the box, she gasped in shock. Out of the box sprang a long, venomous snake with bright green eyes! The snake hissed loudly and raised its head as if ready to bite her.
Lilly screamed and ran as fast as she could. She tried to escape from the snake, but she was so frightened that she tripped over a rock and fell to the ground. The snake moved quickly and bit her on her leg.
“Help! Somebody help me!” Lilly cried out in pain.
Her friends, who were waiting outside, heard her scream. They realized something was wrong and ran to get help. They called their parents and quickly came back with them.
Lilly was rushed to the village doctor, who gave her medicine and treated the snakebite. The doctor told Lilly, “You are lucky, my dear. The snake’s venom was not very strong, and you will be fine. But remember, you should never touch things you don’t know. It can be very dangerous!”
Lilly nodded. She was very sorry for opening the mysterious box. She thanked the doctor and her friends for helping her.
From that day on, Lilly promised herself never to touch or open anything she didn’t know about. She also decided to always listen to her instincts and be more careful in the future.
Lilly learned an important lesson: curiosity is good, but it is also important to stay safe and not take unnecessary risks.
