A heartwarming moral story by Chirag Ghosh of Class 4, Epic Public School, about a tailor and an elephant whose friendship is tested by anger but restored by kindness and forgiveness. Perfect for children and storytelling sessions. Edited and published by Purba Nandi.
Once upon a time there lived a tailor in a village. In the same village lived an elephant as well. The elephant used to go to a river nearby to take a bath, and near the same river the man’s shop was located.
Every day the elephant used to visit the shop and he used to offer the elephant fruits.
One day, the tailor was in a bad mood, so when the elephant visited he pricked a needle into the elephant’s trunk. The elephant got hurt and shocked as this was surprising. He became angry, but did not react and silently went away to the river.
The elephant couldn’t forget the behaviour of his friend. So while returning he filled his trunk with muddy water.
He came back to the tailor’s shop and sprayed the muddy water in the shop. The elephant spoiled all the new clothes of the costumers.
The tailor was filled with dirt. He was shocked with elephant’s behaviour but he was not angry with the elephant. He came out of his shop and touched the elephant with love and affection. He felt sorry for the elephant. He brought some fruits for him and that is how the elephant and the tailor became friends again.
